Sterling silver is the term given to silver containing 92.5% pure silver, the remainder consisting of an alloy. Silver needs to be mixed with other metals to give it strength as pure—or fine—silver scratches and bends too easily to be worn as jewellery. Mexico, Thailand and India are the main producers of this most commonly worn of all metals. Despite the rising cost of this metal we aim to keep a range of silver beads, charms, findings and pendants in stock.
